Transferring from an IFA/other fostering agency

If you already foster with an independent fostering agency (IFA) or another agency/service and wish to transfer to Shropshire Council, please get in touch. Foster carers foster through different agencies for their own personal reasons, circumstances or values. But there are times in your life when these may change and you decide to switch to another fostering organisation.

With Shropshire Fostering, we make the transfer as easy as possible.

In the first instance, simply give us a call or fill in our enquiry form. We can have a chat and, if you’re happy, we’ll arrange for one of our friendly team to visit you and explain the steps when transferring fostering agencies.

We can use your last Form F assessment and complete an ‘Update’ describing your fostering experiences to date. If you have a child in placement, we would hold a Transfer Protocol Meeting to ensure that the placement is not affected.

Shropshire Fostering offers highly competitive rates and experienced supportive supervising social workers, who already have well-established direct links with the social work teams. In addition, we offer an extensive training package and an active Foster Care Association and buddy system.

Get in touch with us today to find out more about joining Shropshire Fostering. We’d love to welcome you to Shropshire’s biggest family!
