Fostering is more rewarding than ever.

Watch “The Run” – a short film on the amazing impact a foster carer can have on a young person’s life

What is fostering?

Fostering is providing temporary care for children and young people, while their parents sort out problems. It helps children and young people through a difficult period in their lives, which can be short-term or long-term.

As one of our Shropshire foster carers, Anne, says: “It can be one of the most enjoyable and rewarding things you’ll ever do.”

I want to foster in Shropshire

Shropshire Fostering urgently needs foster carers for children of all ages. As a not-for-profit organisation, everything is ploughed back into helping children who need it the most.

Potentially, anyone over the age of 21 can foster. You don’t need to be married or own your own property. Our Shropshire foster carers are a range of solo parents, same sex couples, tenants, different ethnicities and religions…. What matters the most is being able to give a child a secure and loving home.

What is the fostering process in Shropshire?

The first step is to enquire. We will send you a free info pack then we can talk, without obligation.

Or you may prefer to attend one of our free Information Sessions. They are conveniently held online, so you don’t have to drive or park anywhere! You don’t need to be a technical whizz to attend online – it’s simply a case of clicking a link.

The next step – if you’ve had your questions answered and we both think there’s potential for you to foster care with us – is arranging a home visit.

One of our directives is to make your fostering application process as easy as possible. We’ll do all the heavy lifting for you!
